ABOUT ME

ABOUT NATURAL HAIR REBEL

Yo yo, I'm Ash!  I'm a fun loving momma of a spunky toddler that keeps me busy all day long.  I love shopping, but I'm allergic to full price.  I'm not an extreme couponer, although I have tried and failed, but I love a good sale.  I have an addiction to shoes (what girl doesn't?), jeans, makeup and food.

So since this is the page where I get to talk about myself, here I go... I am funny, witty, say whats on my mind chick that enjoys a good dessert wine a.k.a. moscato from time to time accompanied with sushi.  I have a tough exterior but my insides are like a gummy bear.  I find a reason to cry at almost every movie I watch.  I'm outgoing but shy, complete oxymoron, but it depends on the situation.  I'm terrified of public speaking.  I'm trying to break that...baby steps, baby steps.  The only genre of foods I do not like is Mexican, but I will tear up a shrimp taco.  I'm a lover of knowledge.  I'm currently learning Dutch, photography and html/css.  I hate cooking the same foods often, so I like to find new recipes and put my own spin on them.  I spawn from a tiny but beautiful island known as St. Maarten, but raised in the peach state. Lastly, I own an accessories e-boutique "The Rebel Boutique" check it out here.

ABOUT MY BLOG

I want my blog to encompass every thing that I love and have a passion for.  Natural Hair Rebel isn't just about hair.  It's a smorgasbord of all things style, beauty, food, adventures, family and natural hair.  Many of you know of me because of my hair and my original YouTube videos under my old handle EilandMeisje85, but thats not my journey.  I don't classify myself by my hair so I couldn't do that with my blog and new YouTube channel.  When I first started my old YT channel it wasn't to vlog about my hair, In fact, that didn't happen until years later.  I used my channel to watch videos on things I found interesting.  When I cut my hair, I began to search for products for curly hair, and thats when I realized that there was this community of beautiful women that looked like me that were sharing their hair experiences, and I wanted to be a part of that.  Looking back, my early videos were awful.  Anyways, my channel name didn't reflect me nor what I was trying to do at that time.  I decided that "Natural Hair Rebel" was a much more deserving name and it fit me perfectly.  I'm not your average woman, I rock my natural, and I don't fit into any one mold.  I move to the beat of my own drum.

I pride myself on being honest so you will get nothing but my honest reviews on all type of products.  I support those that I truly believe in.  I love minimalism and monochromatic design, fashion and art with splashes of color. I hope my tiny place on the web reflects that.
